We thought we'd expose what we consider the 'cool' part of our business—coffee cupping. This job has potential to be considered snob'ish or conversely an excuse for an extra coffee break. In reality, it's serious business and intense work. Each week a group of Level Ground staff get together to closely examine the flavour profile of a coffee.

Most of the time we cup coffees that we are currently selling in order to ensure that our roasting techniques are bringing out the best possible flavour. When a new shipment is purchased we will cup a sample from that harvest. Sometimes we cup a special micro-lot of coffee that we may consider purchasing for specialty sales.
