Our very own Roastmaster and QC specialist Joshua Del Sol received third place in the Canadian Cup Tasters Championship– Congratulations Josh!

"I recently had the awesome opportunity to participate in the prestigious Canadian Cup Taster's Challenge, a multiple choice styled coffee guessing game. The concept is pretty basic: Three contestants go head to head, eight sets of three cups of coffee are set before each contestant. Contestants have eight minutes to taste all sets of cups on the table and distinguish which of the three cups is different. It's like Sesame Street for coffee (one of these things doesn't belong here).

In the end of the semi-finals, I found myself displacing some very qualified tasters and mixed in with the first and second place winners from last year. In the end, I came out a very solid third overall with Barrett Jones of 49th Parallel Roasters (in Vancouver) and Geoff Polci of Créma Coffee Co. (in Toronto) placing first and second respectively.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet other awesome tasters in the industry and challenge myself. I had a wonderful time and am grateful for the opportunity!"
